TRAVEL TIPS

Travelling to a foreign country is often a exciting undertaking, and below are a few tips to make sure that your trip remains as hassle free as possible.

Travel Documents

Ensure your passport is updated for the duration of your trip. Depending on your nationality you may have to apply for your tourist visa before leaving home. Make sure you have a suitable travel insurance organized too.

Reservations

Make sure you book for your flight and accommodation in advance so as to give room for possible options.

Vaccinations

Make an appointment with your doctor to check what vaccinations you need or any medicine you should take with you.

Packing List

Make a list a few weeks in advance and as the days go by, you will get more things to add, write them down as you go, then pack everything on your list in the last day or two. Also, ensure your luggage remains within the airline's stipulated weight, unless you plan to pay for the excess as air cargo, which could cost you more.

Finances

A substantial amount of pocket money for your local expenditure is necessary. You can use forex bureaus to change your home currency to the local currency or to US dollars. Credit cards can be convenient but the safe alternative is to carry travelers’ cheques.
